Kanchanaburi is home to the Bridge Over the River Khwae. Turns out ‘Kwai’ is incorrect and means ‘buffalo’. Here we visited the Jeath War Museum, the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery and of course the bridge itself which spans the River Khwae. The museum and cemetery are reminders of how many people died during the Second World War and the conditions that they endured.
