Nome (Siqnazuaq), Alaska

Friday and Saturday, August 17 and 18, 2012

We spent a day and and half in the little town on Nome. Home to a few thousand people and only accessible by plane or boat. We flew in and will leave by boat.

The main task was to retrieve Caroline’s delay luggage. It took 24 hours, but it arrived before we sailed, which is good, because it included all of her cold weather clothing.

The town is not much to speak of, just your typical inaccessible northern Alaskan fishing and gold mining town.

Checking the marine trackers to find out where the ship was. Indeed, it was on its way.
A stroll around the town.
These fish are being cut up for bait, to catch even bigger fish.
Hooks for catching fish.
