Rushing to Dawson City, Yukon

We started our journey in Chandler, Arizona where Molly was stored. Next stop Dawson City in Yukon Canada, nearly 3,500 miles or a little more than 5,500 kms away. This is a long way to drive, but we wanted to explore the far North of Western Canada, and Dawson City is the typical starting point.

The drive took us 14 days. Molly for the most part behaved well, only needing diesel and DEF. However, on the second to last day, the hinge on one of our rear locker hatches failed. Caroline and Stephen also held up well, and they managed the drive with ease. Along the way we stopped to see friends and do a few chores.

Tomorrow we finish the last 100 miles or 154 kms to Dawson City. And here we will relax for a few days before heading further North along the Dempster Highway. It is time for a rest.

And so the journey starts. Molly had a drained battery, but that was quickly fix with a cross charge from the house batteries. Yihaa, and we are off.
Molly and Squeezebox are reunited. Planned to work on installing a new bike rack are Gary and Monica’s, but ended up chatting all night instead.
Time to install the new bike rack for the new e-bike.
Crossing into Canada.
Qwak leads the way. The way is North.
Kinaskan Lake Provincial Park Campground. Very nice indeed.
Good idea to fuel up when there is fuel. Even if the fuel stop is not very glamorous.
It is not always rainbows and unicorns up here. It rains, a lot.
Visitor Center in Whitehorse had this cool map on the floor of where we are going. We are going North.
Lake Laberge Campground. Yukon government campground provides free firewood.
More rain and serious road works.
